Pacific Rim - Gipsy Thunder

Description

This is not a constructed Jaeger as far as any fanon or canon is concerned. This is a blueprint, something developed by students and engineers after the battle of the first Breach.

Gipsy Danger was truly one of a kind, and she gave her life to save us against the Precursors. But a lot of engineers, grad students, and others working to build the technology to save the future of humanity...be it Jaeger or technology derived from the Jaeger tech, could not simply let good things die.

Thus, Gipsy Thunder.

The variation in the name was out of respect of the original Gipsy Danger, as she could never be replaced. Gipsy Thunder's design was based on the original Mk. 3 chassis, including improvements developed from her "daughter," Dragon Ascendant. The fundamental construction is simple and robust ("if it ain't broke, don't fix it") with augments that, if they fail, will not interfere with operation.

Gipsy Thunder includes the fire control and induction power systems for secondary ordinance including large-scale artillery and precision laser and ballistic sniper ordinance, as well as other systems that can be picked up and carried by the Jaeger.

At present, the blueprint is as far as this design has come, but copies reside within the PPDC database, with Marshal Hansen, and with the prospective pilots (Beckett and Mori). Los Angeles Shatterdome facilities and international industrial capacities stand ready should the need arise to bring back this heroic machine.
